Skip the meta keywords tag
What it is
The old meta keywords tag listed keywords in the page code. Google has ignored it for over a decade.
Why it matters
It does nothing for rankings and can show competitors exactly what you're targeting.
✓ Good example
No meta keywords tag; the keyword appears naturally in the title and content.
✗ Common mistake
A keywords tag with 40 city names.
You pass when: No time is spent on a meta keywords tag.
