What structured data is

Illustration for Structured Data for Local Businesses

What it is

Structured data (schema.org JSON-LD) is code that labels facts on your page: business name, address, hours, services, reviews.

Why it matters

It removes guesswork for search engines and AI assistants reading your site.

✓ Good example

A LocalBusiness JSON-LD block on your homepage.

✗ Common mistake

Facts only in images or PDFs.

Try it: what machines see

Smith Plumbing… call us… we're open… somewhere in Springfield (machines have to guess)

You pass when: You know which page holds your business schema.
