Lesson 4 of 5 · Images

Set image width and height

What it is

Give each image its width and height so the browser reserves space before it loads. Serve smaller versions to phones.

Why it matters

Without dimensions the page jumps as images load, which annoys visitors and hurts Core Web Vitals.

✓ Good example

<img src='team.webp' width='800' height='533' alt='Our install team'>

✗ Common mistake

Images with no size, pushing the call button down as they load.

You pass when: Images don't make the page jump while loading.
