Lesson 1 of 5 · Basics
Why AI answers are different
What it is
AI assistants like ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Perplexity answer "who should I hire?" with one or two names instead of a page of links.
Why it matters
If you are not one of those names, you get no impression, no click and no call for that search.
✓ Good example
Asking ChatGPT "best furnace repair in Canton, Ohio" and noting which businesses and pages it mentions.
✗ Common mistake
Assuming a page-one Google ranking means AI will recommend you too.
You pass when: You have asked three AI assistants your top customer question and written down who they recommend.
